Kirsty & Matt

Posing Peacocks, scratch cards for all, a hell of a speech from the groom and a couple very much in love. Just some memories which spring to mind from this truly special day.

Elsham Hall has always been a favourite of mine. The grounds provide a beautiful backdrop no matter what time of year and what ever the weather. Kirsty and Matt’s wonderful day may have been about as overcast as they come, but it did nothing to dampen the spirits of the couple and their guests.

Having only photographed their pre-wedding shoot a few months prior in the Peak District, I knew exactly what to expect from Kirsty and Matt. They’re such a warm hearted, laid back couple who wanted nothing more than to enjoy a day with their closest friends and family.

Nicola & Alan

A wedding at any time of the year is a special thing. However there is something about an autumn wedding. Nicola and Alan chose to get married at Elsham Hall. It was my second wedding there this year and despite only being a matter of weeks since the first one, it was almost as if it was totally different place. The rich autumnal colours brought a whole new feel to when I had been there previously, only to be enhanced even further by Nicola's decoration choices which features a lot of burnt oranges and reds. The whole occasion looked totally resplendent and the atmosphere throughout the entire day was one of pure happiness.. 

Nicola and Alan were a joy to photograph. Laid back, calm and keen to enjoy their day with their closest family and friends. Congratulations to them both.

Naomi & Simon: Married

One of the things that stuck with me from when I first met Naomi and Simon was the vision they had for their day. They wanted it to be fun, relaxed and everything that a wedding should be... a celebration. For them it wasn't just a day for themselves, but one for their family and friends. Something for everyone to enjoy. I'm glad to say that the day sure did deliver! 

I think anyone would be hard pressed to find a couple more in tune with one another than Naomi and Simon. They were a joy to work with. Constantly laughing and joking, they were as laid back as any couple I've had the pleasure of photographing. Their day was one filled with laughter, fun and games... the way any wedding should be. With family and friends coming from far and wide, not even the weather could spoil the occasion.

Jess & Matt: Married

It feels like an eternity since I shot Jess & Matt's engagement shoot back in 2014. So I suppose you could forgive me for saying that this wedding felt like a long time coming! 
 

The entire day was spent at the wonderful setting of Healing Manor in the Lincolnshire countryside. The spring sunshine and blue skies soon descended into a mushy mess of grey clouds and drizzle, but that didn't come anywhere near close to ruining an amazing day with some great people and a perfect couple. 

My favourite thing about Jess and Matt is they're the kind of people you can sit and chat to forever. They both have such genuine characters and their personalities complement each other wonderfully. I think you'll agree, they also look pretty damn good together!

Congratulations to them both!

Laura & Ash: Married

We should never worry about things we cannot control. Therefore, there is absolutely no point in letting a little bit of rain spoil any day, let alone a wedding day. I'm glad to say that Laura and Ash didn't allow the weather to dampen their spirits at the White Swann (North Lincolnshire) at the back end of summer. This wonderful couple have been guests at quite a few weddings that I have been fortunate enough to photograph over the past couple of years. This time, it was their turn... and like many people's big day, it was not only about their love for one another but also for sharing it with the people who they cared for most.

Sophie & Damien: Married

Newstead Priory has become one of my favourite wedding venues. Nestled into a lovely, quiet part of the Lincolnshire countryside, it provides the perfect backdrop for a wedding day. Not only are the grounds, the house and barn beautifully kept; the staff are amongst the best I've seen. The service is second to non and I for one will be sad to see it no longer being used for weddings from next year onwards. However, it was a privilege to be a part of one of the final few weddings to take place there. One of the many reasons that Sophie and Damien's day will live long in the memory is the very moving speech that Damien gave about his new wife. He spoke about how upon meeting her, he had the overwhelming urge to protect and to be a part of her life. Not only was his delivery exceptional, but it hit a chord with every single person in the room.

I was really struck by how wonderfully comfortable these guys were around one another, even with a camera focused on their every move. Congratulations to both of them. Here is the story of their day.
